Notes From Her Outdoors

I love the great outdoors. There's a lot out there to keep me fascinated.

Throughout 2010 I attempted to blog every new thing I saw as it came into season, wandered past me, or was found hiding in a sneaky niche.

Now I have the task of naming all the life I recorded - life was never sweeter.

This year I'm recording the things that catch my eye. and hopefully, will catch yours too.

Wish me luck, I'm going out!

Golden Walk To Work Tuesday 2.11.10

Oh yes, true to form. I found fungi today.

But first I thought I'd bring you a shot of the field that had cowslips everywhere last spring and meadow flowers all summer. 'Today it are mostly bein green'.

MeWally gives an idea of the size of the larger Geotropa Fungi. You can see others arching around behind him.

This Geotropa had caught a Beech Mast as it grew and it took it up with it. We couldn't pull it out as the fungi had got such a tight grip on it!

ONE OF NATURES WONDERS.

Picking fungi can be dangerous -if you intend to eat them - so keep an eye out for interlopers like this. It is growing with the Geotropas, but isn't one. Is it poisonous? I'll let you know ....hopefully.

It is, as they say in the States the FALL and with it comes some pretty spectacular autumn foliage like this HORSE CHESTNUT. By any standards it's a

MONSTER!
