Notes From Her Outdoors

I love the great outdoors. There's a lot out there to keep me fascinated.

Throughout 2010 I attempted to blog every new thing I saw as it came into season, wandered past me, or was found hiding in a sneaky niche.

Now I have the task of naming all the life I recorded - life was never sweeter.

This year I'm recording the things that catch my eye. and hopefully, will catch yours too.

Wish me luck, I'm going out!

A Walk Down A Devon Lane - Sunday 13.3.11

The lane into BRIMPTS FARM was a joy this morning.

The Devon banked hedges were covered in snowdrops,

they were like little jewels.

Often alongside the SNOWDROPS were DAFFODILS

quietly basking in the sunshine.

All in all a lovely spot to wander on a Sunday morning.

In the shady ditches I found LIVERWORTS

and FERNS,

some of them tiny.

The CHERRY and BLACKTHORN are in bloom, here side by side.

PRIMROSES and GORSE were in full bloom down here in DEVON. Sadly I didn't snap a single one.
Small SAND LIZARDS were basking at the farm, but legged it the moment I lifted the camera : (   maybe next time?

Bowling Green Marshes - Friday 21.1.11

Such a good moment to see AVOCETS, low tide,

clear and sunny weather.

BRENT GEESE were everywhere, they look so beautiful. In this flock there was also a lone CURLEW.

Just off TOPSHAM another group of BRENT GEESE strung their way across the estuary.

REDSHANKS feeding near the town. So bold, that they didn't budge at all as I got closer, and closer.
