Notes From Her Outdoors

I love the great outdoors. There's a lot out there to keep me fascinated.

Throughout 2010 I attempted to blog every new thing I saw as it came into season, wandered past me, or was found hiding in a sneaky niche.

Now I have the task of naming all the life I recorded - life was never sweeter.

This year I'm recording the things that catch my eye. and hopefully, will catch yours too.

Wish me luck, I'm going out!

Creepy Crawlies

It's been a mixed week, flat out working in peoples gardens, cold sometimes, hot others and no chance to go for an early morning walk with MeWally.
SO WHAT DID I SEE??

QUITE A FEW NEW THINGS - ACTUALLY

In a Minchinhampton garden I saw 2 frogs, one was teenager sized and the other, tiny, no more than 2 cm. Both were perfect in every way. Sorry to say the tiny one zoomed into the undergrowth, so no picture. But here's a lookee likee from the internet.

This one's half way , in size, between the two I saw.

I've seen a couple of Caterpillar types

Scarlet Tiger (
Callimorpha dominula)

noctuid moth caterpillar (Noctuidae

Sorry it's so blurred.

Lush snail

I love snails especially ones with the marks left by their sleepig mates.

Helix aspersa

Last, but by no means least, Goerge, our 2in, black, chunky house spider with a gammy  leg.

House Spider (Tegenaria sp.)
Dancin' On The Ceiling.
